HiDef’s colleagues at BioConsult SH recently attended the 1st International Conference on Radar Aeroecology in Rome. The conference was organised by the European Network for the Radar surveillance of Animal Movement (ENRAM) and brought together experts working with different radar technologies and across different target species groups (birds, insects, bats). The focus of the conference was to present the latest research on radar aeroecology, and to discuss how best to meet future challenges.
Jan Blew, from BioConsult SH, presented on “Results of pencil beam and surveillance radar compared to German and Danish weather radar at the Baltic sea coast” in the session “Advances in radar methodology” (please click the link for the abstract).
Prior to the conference a three-day practical workshop was held on techniques for the processing of weather radar data, with BioConsult SH’s Vladislav Kosarev being one of the instructors.
