Catriona joined HiDef as Principal Consultant in March 2020 and will be leading on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Habitats Regulations Appraisals (HRAs) for seabirds and marine mammals. She has a strong background in public sector impact assessment having worked for Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) for over twenty years, in the last ten acting as their lead for offshore wind farm development on the east coast of Scotland. She was SNH’s casework lead for the Moray East and Beatrice offshore wind farms in the Moray Firth, and the Seagreen Alpha and Bravo, Neart na Gaiothe and Inch Cape offshore wind farms in the outer Firths of Forth and Tay. She has a special interest in writing clear advice for both specialist and non-specialist audiences and has trained with the plain English campaign.
