Diane recently joined HiDef in October 2021 as an Ecological Consultant. She has a background in biology and marine conservation gained from a BSc in Biology from the Université Grenoble Alpes in 2020 in France and her MSc in Marine Conservation from the University of Aberdeen in 2021. Her latest research has focused on using noise modelling to estimate and map changes in the marine soundscape due to oil and gas decommissioning in the North Sea for Marine Scotland Science and estimate the potential associated impacts on sensitive marine fauna. This has given her experience in a number of statistical and analytical techniques. Volunteering for several conservation groups such as RSPB, WDC, university marine society, she also had the chance to develop solid scientific communication skills by organising workshops and activities around the marine environment and writing an online book for children.
