Glen joined HiDef in January 2023, having previously worked for NatureScot as a marine ornithology advisor, with involvement in many offshore wind projects in Scotland, and leading seabird monitoring work.
Prior to joining NatureScot he worked for RSPB research for 17 years on a range of species conservation work from woodland grouse and wet grassland waders to reedbed specialists.
His PhD is in Corncrake ecology with a focus on grassland management. His work for HiDef will cover Environmental impact assessments for marine energy projects with an emphasis on science-based answers to consenting issues.
Besides his work in conservation Glen has also been a crofter, fire fighter and engineer. He is on the board of directors for Fair Isle Bird Observatory.
