HiDef Welcome Erebus Consent

HiDef Welcome Erebus Consent

HiDef are pleased to have been part of Erebus’ journey to consent, having been commissioned to undertake the pre-construction baseline aerial surveys (October 2019 – September 2021) and then following through with the marine ornithological impact assessment to meet the December 2021 submission date, with further work during 2022 to help resolve statutory (NRW / JNCC) and non-statutory (RSPB, Wildlife Trusts and others) queries and points of clarification.

As Erebus is the first (floating) offshore wind farm to be progressed in the Celtic Sea, it has been a learning exercise all round, helping to refine the detail of marine ornithological assessment approaches and model methodologies for future use in this area.

HiDef would like to congratulate BlueGem Wind on their successful consent, ably supported by MarineSpace as the lead offshore EIA consultants, with whom it was a pleasure to work.
