Rory recently joined HiDef in March 2022 as part of the Data Science team. He has developed an interest marine biology and data manipulation through his BSc in Zoology and his MSc in Quantitative Methods in Biodiversity, Conservation and Epidemiology in 2021. During his MSc degree he carried out research into developing a bioenergetic model to investigate the impact of decreasing prey sizes on breeding common guillemots. Rory has also had the opportunity to develop his science communication skills in a previous role working for an environmental education company developing resources and running various workshops and activities.
