Ruth joined HiDef in 2019 as an Imagery Analyst/Ecological Consultant. She has a background in wildlife and environmental science, achieving the top student award in both her MSc in Wildlife Biology and Conservation (Edinburgh Napier University, 2018-19) and BSc in Biology and Applied Environmental Science (Keele University, 2011-14). Ruth has a varied background, working as a bat survey assistant and researching diverse topics such as aquaculture in Malaysia and small mammal trapping in Scotland. This has given her experience in a number of practical survey and analytical techniques. She has volunteered with a range of organisations including bird anti-poaching camps in Malta and seabird monitoring in Skokholm. She believes greatly in ensuring the protection of nature and is eager to learn any new skills that will drive that passion forward.
