Torcuil has acquired and developed a range of skills in a career spanning more than 16 years within the environmental consultancy sector. Specialising in ornithology he has also worked for the RSPB, and other NGOs, gaining considerable knowledge and experience undertaking a variety of nationally recognised ornithological surveys. He was Assistant Warden on Fair Isle in 2003, which truly ignited Torcuil’s interest in seabirds, and he has since undertaken ESAS training. Following extended periods of employment as a key team member for two consultancies delivering ecological survey and technical outputs on more than 40 renewables projects, he joined the HiDef ID team in 2018.
