Jess joined HiDef as an Ecological Consultant in June 2022. She has a background in marine conservation and wildlife biology, gained from her MSc in Marine Environmental Protection (Bangor University, 2019 – 2020), and BSc in International Wildlife Biology (University of South Wales, 2015 – 2018). Jess has previously worked in a variety of consultancy, research and educational roles in the environment and aquaculture sectors. She also has diverse voluntary experience in research, conservation programmes and wildlife rescue centres locally and in Honduras, Iceland, Thailand and South Africa. These have included a variety of marine and terrestrial surveys, coral transplanting, invasive species control, statistics and GIS analysis. Through her professional and volunteering experience, Jess has developed a strong practical knowledge, communication, and analytical skills which she applies to her work at HiDef.
