The beginning of 2025 has been challenging for HiDef in the United States. But now we are very proud to have finished a very successful survey project in Louisiana with some fantastic partnerships.
“Louisiana’s coastal wintering waterfowl survey has been a valuable tool for assessing trends in abundance and distribution of wintering waterfowl in the state dating back to the late 1960’s. However, we’ve lacked measures of its accuracy and precision in enumerating ducks over both a large geography and within the strip transects we fly.
This collaboration will provide long-desired data to measure the latter – LDWF Waterfowl program manager Jason Olszak.”
HiDef would like to thank the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for partnering with us on this exciting project!
It’s also been wonderful partnering up with Delta Waterfowl Foundation on such an exciting project. HiDef are very grateful and look forward to teaming up again in the future!
Justin Higdon – Delta Waterfowl Regional Director has passed on some encouraging words:
“We’re thrilled to join forces with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to explore new technological possibilities for waterfowl surveys,” said Justin Higdon, Louisiana regional director for Delta Waterfowl. “Innovation is essential as we tackle evolving challenges, and we’re eager to see how these advancements could play a role in the management of waterfowl.”
